    Applicants must disclose any direct or indirect conflicts of interest in their application. Any potential impact of the funding decision on the applicants’ own financial or other personal interests, or those of their spouses or domestic partners, family members, or persons living in the same household, shall in any case be considered a conflict of interest. Other circumstances that may give rise to a conflict of interest include paid or unpaid collaboration by applicants with companies or for-profit organizations involved in the project, on which the funding decision could have financial or personal implications, even outside the scope of the project in question. All payments that applicants or the persons mentioned in the second sentence have already received or been promised by third parties (including nonprofit organizations) in connection with the project in question must be disclosed at the time of application, as must any intellectual property rights held by the applicants or other persons and organizations involved in the project that are relevant to the project in a broad sense. Any financial commitments or payments from third parties to the applicant or to the persons mentioned in the second sentence that occur at a later date—particularly during an ongoing grant award process or after a grant has been approved by PMU-RIF 26-28—must be disclosed immediately upon their occurrence.
