  • Instructions for completing the following form:

    • Please be aware that your application may be assessed by colleagues not from your field. Therefore, please write for a broad audience.
      Each section must be addressed briefly and concisely. In case one or more sections do not apply to a particular proposal, please provide a short explanation of why it is not of relevance. Do not add any additional sections or alter the order of sections.
    • In case a requested information is currently not yet available (e.g. a clinical study is planned for a later stage of the project and it will be based on or influenced by future results of other studies), the foreseen input shall be described.
    • Every section underlies a specific limitation of characters (including spaces). Make sure these limitations are met in the proposal. Please, do not consider the limited characters as a target! It is in your interest to keep your text as concise as possible.
    • Font sizes and styles do not have to be adapted when writing directly in the form.
    • If you want to transfer text passages to the form please make sure to transfer them only from Google Drive as transferring texts from Microsoft Word or other softwares may lead to errors!

  • 4. Gender and diversity equality in science

  • Research questions, which potentially cover gender and gender-relevant components, have to address a balanced integration of the sexes when planning the experiment. Only applications in which male and female test subjects are involved will be funded. Male and female individuals have also to be used in laboratory animal tests. If this is not possible in individual cases, or if no gender-specific dimension has to be taken into account, or if there is a scientific / ethical reason not do to so, please provide a justification here.

  • 9. Conflict of interest

  • Please refer to the explanation of conflicts of interest following the guidelines of the PMU-RIF that defines a conflict of interest as follows:

    Any possible effects of the funding decision on the applicant's own economic or other personal interests,their spouses or life partners, family members or people living in the same household are to be viewed as a conflict of interest. Further circumstances that can give rise to a conflict of interest are, paid or unpaid, cooperation between applicants and project-involved companies or profit-oriented institutions, on which the funding decision could have financial or personal effects, even outside the project in question. All payments that applicants or the persons named in sentence 2 have already received from third parties (including from non-profit institutions) in connection with the project in question must be disclosed when the application is submitted, as well as any intellectual property rights of the applicants or other project-involved persons and institutions that are project-relevant in the broad sense. All financial commitments or payments by third parties to the applicants or the persons named in sentence 2 that occur later, in particular during the ongoing award procedure or after the commitment of funding by the PMU-RIF, must be disclosed immediately after their occurrence.
